MLB Playoffs Wild-Card Series 2022: New Format, Schedule, TV Channel

Eight teams will play in an expanded postseason format, beginning on Friday and continuing through the weekend.

October is finally here, and with it comes the start of the expanded MLB playoffs. First up, a new form of the Wild-Card Series.

The four wild-card teams in each league will play a best-of-three series at one ballpark (whoever is the higher seed hosts). Then, whichever two teams advance will go on to the division series to face the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, who started the playoffs with a bye. 

How to Watch

Live daily coverage of the Wild-Card Series starts on Friday, Oct. 7 and will continue through Sunday, Oct. 9 on ESPN and ABC.
